BACK FROM APPALACHIA!!

Chillin' an amazing bottle in a Somky Mountain River

Chillin' an amazing bottle in a Somky Mountain River

Winding roads, spectacular views, campfires, boiled peanuts, Cherokee Indian crafts, Nashville, Country Music…and wine.

So my wife and I have been in the Appalachian Mountains for a week setting up and breaking down campsites and cooking food on a little two-burner stove. We made sure, of course, that we paired wine with every meal and I am working a post about the craziness of a wine geek in the wilderness. We had a great time and the Shenandoah, Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains are absolutely beautiful. Breathtaking actually.

We also had a chance to stop by an amazing vineyard in Virginia and taste some seriously wonderful wine. It was actually some of the best wine I have had coming out of the U.S. to date. I can’t wait to talk about the soils and the complexity of Linden Vineyards. I’ll see everyone at the shop for some great Italian wines tonight. Good to be back in the city!
